Reflection after reading the notes on ATOMS, MOLECULES AND STOICHIOMETRY.
I have learnt the formula of relative isotopic mass, relative atomic mass. Ar can also be calculated from the abundance of the isotopes. Relative molecular mass (Mr) of a compound is the sum of the relative atomic masses of all the atoms in one molecule of a covalent compound.Relative formula mass (Mr) is also the relative molecular mass of an ionic and giant molecular compound. One mole of any substance is the amount of substance containing a number of particles equal to the Avogadro constant, 6.02 x 1023. No of mol of a substance = mass of the element over the Ar of the element, or mass of the substance over the Mr of the substance or number of particles over Avogadro constant. For solution, number of mol= concentration of solution X volume of solution. For gas, number of mol= vol of gas over 24 dm3 at r.t.p.
